Web3 Glossary

Also, Web3 is a new “world” for many of us. The language sometimes also differs from what we use in the Web2 business environment. Every week we will highlight three words that are frequently used. You also have a “complete” Glossary here

CRYPTOCURRENCY- A digital currency that works as a medium of exchange on blockchain technology. The transactions and records are verified and maintained by a decentralized network using cryptography.

CRYPTO COINS- Crypto Coins are the native asset of blockchains. Bitcoin has a BTC coin, and Ethereum has an ETH coin.

STABLE COIN- It is a cryptocurrency designed to offer stable prices. The functionality of the stablecoin can be pegged to another asset. For example, the US dollar then the price of a stablecoin will be $1.

SHITCOIN- Refers to the cryptocurrency which holds no immediate value. It often refers to altcoin, and its diminished value reflects that the investor was not interested in investing.

CRYPTO TOKENS- Crypto Tokens are built on applications that are built on existing blockchains. Numerous tokens can be created on the existing blockchain technology. You can find different kinds of tokens on applications or games which can be exchanged with coins achieving certain numbers.
